In 1925 Dublin was a hive
of activity
'cause change was a-coming down
Frank Duff wasted no time
with his ladies of the L.O.M*
they set about to clear out
Monto town
but across the City Quays
a woman from the Liberties
was doing all she could just to get by
Ah,the Green that was her beat
and the lads she loved to meet
all knew her by the name of Honor Bright

That evening in June her Honor was in tune
heading for her turf just to meet her star
But two men in a car did show
near the top of the Merrion Row
and to their delight
she stepped inside the car
as they quickly turned the keys
this woman from the Liberties
would never again
see the broad daylight
for on the Ticknock mountain ground
they threw her body down
and they murdered the woman
we knew as Honor Bright

Who was it done it
and who can tell us why
though there were those said she was no loss
But everybody knew
it was the Doctor and the Screw
killed her in the ditch near Lamb Doyle's Cross
